Each year, Huxley College holds a graduation celebration on the afternoon of Spring Commencement. Graduating seniors and master’s candidates attend for one last chance to participate in the Huxley community as a student—and, of course, to hear the Huxley House Band, made up of their favorite faculty and staff members.
2017 Event Schedule & Eligibility
Huxley College’s 2017 graduation celebration will take place on Saturday, June 10, at 2 pm at the WWU Performing Arts Center Main Stage. You are eligible to participate in this celebration if you graduated or have applied to graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree anytime from fall 2016 through fall 2017.
Please return the participation form (pdf) to Kathy Patrick (Kathryn.Patrick@wwu.edu or ES 539) by Monday, May 15, to let us know if you will attend. Sending in the form and your student photograph by the deadline ensures inclusion in the printed event program and in the student collage displayed at the event.
Still have questions about what this event is all about? Check out the 2016 Grad Celebration highlights on YouTube.
Huxley’s Celebration is NOT the Same as Western’s Graduation
The annual Huxley College graduation celebration is unrelated to Western’s official Spring Commencement held on the same day. However, many of Huxley’s spring quarter graduates attend both events. Those students eligible to participate in Western’s commencement will receive official notification from the WWU Registrar.
Photographs for the Graduation Collage & Slide Show
Each year, we also prepare a photo collage of graduates (both attendees and non-attendees) for display at the celebration. Printed posters will be displayed in the Dean’s office after the event, and photos may be used in future Huxley College promotional materials.
Please email digital photographs to Kathryn.Patrick@wwu.edu by May 15, 2017, to guarantee inclusion in the graduation collage. Be sure to title the photo file with your full name, i.e., ThomasHenryHuxley.jpg. If you miss the May 15 registration deadline, please contact Kathy Patrick or Mary Moores to discuss participation.
Congratulations! We look forward to seeing you at graduation...
