Cathy Reidy Liermann



Dr. Cathy Reidy Liermann is an ecohydrologist and instructor at Western Washington University's  Huxley College of the Environment on the Peninsulas. She earned her Ph.D. from Umeå University in Sweden, M.S. from University of Washington, and B.M. at Boston University School of Music.  Dr. Reidy Liermann's research explores human dependencies and effects on freshwater systems, with global work focusing on sustaining freshwater goods and services under an ever-increasing human demand; in particular,  examining the roles of dams and inland fishing.  Regional efforts have centered on instream flows, including hydrologic classification, climate change modeling and applied water conservation planning.
