Professor Ming-Ho Yu Award Winner for Toxicology
The Ming-Ho award is for the outstanding student in Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry for each year’s graduating cohort. This is the first award since the passing of Professor Yu. The criteria are outstanding performance in the classroom, research in the laboratory, and the potential to make important contributions to the field. This year it was a tie, going to Katie Benoit and Ava Gempler. Both were outstanding in classes. More importantly, both were outstanding in their commitment to research, focusing on microplastics, passive samplers, and monitoring contaminants in snow. Each has incredible promise to make critical contributions to environmental toxicology and chemistry and to soon become our colleagues in the field. Congratulations!
